It works if you register the dll "by hand":
I used the standalone installer
http://download2.xnview.com/XnShellEx64.exe
Click ignore (so it will complete the installation and leave the files) and register with: regsvr32 "c:\Program Files (x86)\2D\XnView\ShellEx\XnViewShellExt.dll"

When you save 32bits picture, only 24bits is saved???? Yes, alpha is discarted.
Which JP2000 plugin do you use? I tried both: standard and LuraWave, but same results.
There is no option to preserve the alpha channel....
Also using "lossless compression" option, alpha is not saved and the new ...

Missing alpha on jpeg2000 options
jpeg2000 has no option to write alpha channel.
But if I remember correctly, this option was included in old xnview versions.
I am missing something or there is a new limitation to the format?
