you select a category in the 'category filter' panel, or 'categories' panel?
There is no checkbox in Category Filters, so I did it in Categories.

Re: Feature request: Vastly increased performance with large amount of data

i changed every letter to 1 (all of them were simple, English alphabet letters). Sorry, I can't attach txt. Also, I couldn't find [spoiler] tags. I try to reproduce, but i need a screenshot of settings>Metadata? Which format of files do you tags? I keyword a variety of media types. JPG, Gif, png, a...

0.95 MP 64: Unwanted move of categories

Hi there, I am not entirely sure if this is a bug or feature. I experience it as an issue, so I report it as a bug. How to reproduce: Have multiple levels of categories. Select a category by clicking on it. The word itself, not the checkbox. Now the word has a darker background. Scroll to a differen...

Re: Feature request: Vastly increased performance with large amount of data

Sorry, that is private. Without the category list, i'm not able to find the problem I changed every letter to 1 (all of them were simple, English alphabet letters). Sorry, I can't attach txt. Also, I couldn't find [spoiler] tags. 51 451 41 11111111111 11111 1111111111 11 111 1111111 1111111, 111 11...

Thank you, so the files.xml contains ALL keyworded media as well. That is very useful.

Re: FIles.xmp and Categories.txt -

the categories are stored in .xmp/embedded metadata? Sorry, I made a typo in the subject. I wanted to write files.xmL. The file what you get by using the option to Export File's Categories. If possible, the categories are stored in metadata too (pictures), but I keyworded other types of media as we...

FIles.xmp and Categories.txt -

Hi, If for some reason I lose my XnView.db, can I recreate my data from the exported categories list and the files.xml? Does files.xml contain all the keywording work I have done until the export? I'm asking this because the files.xml is much smaller than the XnView.db (about 8MB .xml vs 90MB .db). ...

Re: Selecting multiple files by mouse

I'd rather keep drag'n'drop as default operation.

How about some "rectangle mode hotkey" + mouse drag to draw a rectangle?

Re: Feature request: Vastly increased performance with large amount of data

Still, when I work with categories, especially when selecting multiple photos to work with, MP performs extremely slow. I have to wait 2-5 seconds(!!!) to get the sum of the Assigned Categories. Another use case when I experience this slowness is when I finished adding categories to multiple pictur...

Re: Feature request: Vastly increased performance with large amount of data

I think number of categories is the problem here. Have you tried with less catgories? Yes, when I started using MP and started building the Category list. It was fine back then. However, the number of keywords will not go down, it will just increase in the future. Whenever I see something important...

Feature request: Vastly increased performance with large amount of data

Hi all, I am using MP on a huge media folder, almost a TB of media in about 700 directories, mostly photos. I have 2600+ categories. The XnView.db is 91MB currently and growing slowly but steadily. I recently moved the DB and thumbs to a very fast SSD. Still, when I work with categories, especially ...

Re: Apply Keywords From Toolbar?

Correct. On an already small screen, browser mode eats up lots of valuable space, which makes it much harder to see details of the pics when I'm going thru & tagging. I really mean no offense here, but if you are working regularly with photos, you need high quality, big screen monitors, preferably ...

Re: How to move xnview.db

adding/removing keywords can take 2-4 seconds, while xnview is completely unresponsive (I even get the "Not responding" warning from W10 regularly). do you have a lot of categories?? Yes, 2400+ lines in the exported Categories.txt. I want to move the xnview.db to an SSD. Besides moving it to the ne...

Re: How to update keywords in IPTC header?

the only way is to use th IPTC/XMP edit dialog I see, thank you. This might be problematic for some professionals, who upload their pictures to stock photo sites, because those sites do strict keyword checks (I worked for a professional photographer about 10 years ago, that's how I got hooked on ke...
