(Not a new bug)
To reproduce:
1. Enabled setting: "Hide Tab header when only one is opened" (Settings: Interface > Tabs)
2. Hide Tabs (uncheck: View > Tab > Show)
3. Restart the program
Workaround: Disable the setting and it works as expected.

When I tag an image I want to see the updated tag status on the second monitor but the info is not updated until I open the image again.

Re: Converting to avif results in 0 byte files
Yes, no problem with XnViewMP.
I wanted to use NConvert in a batch file since avifenc doesn't support resizing and imagemagick doesn't support min/max quantizers.
XnViewMP supports avif, speed, resizing and min/max quantizers.
It would be great if it would work with NConvert too.

Converting to avif results in 0 byte files
Hello, I'm unable to convert files to avif format :(
I copied the plugins folder of XnViewMP and nconvert lists avif as a supported format.
nconvert -out avif image.jpg
It seems to convert the image but...
Encoded successfully.
* ColorOBU size: 429817 bytes

Re: Use mouse Forward/Back button to revisit folder.
I think those keys are "ALT + Left" and "ALT + Right".
Those shortcuts are also supported in File Explorer but they don't seem to work in XnView.

Wrong path when saving via "Save as..."
When saving an image via "Save selection..." the path is set to the directory of that image, however, when saving via "Save as..." it only does this once and doesn't update the path when saving images from other directories.

Sort photos by the "Date modified" EXIF tag?
Hello,
It seems to me that photos can only be sorted by date using the file dates or the "Date taken" EXIF tag; however, most of my photos only have the "Date modified" EXIF tag.
Is there any solution to sort photos by the "Date modified" EXIF tag?
