Thank you Pierre. I assume that you meant "lossy" (not lossless). I still know what you meant. I guess that my long-winded post was just another way of saying that, using many many more words. :-)

Information: Convert to 256 color space not possible with JPG

Hi, I think this is more for everyone's information. Perhaps most readers of this forum already know this, but for those who don't -- I was confused when converting some TIFF images to 256 color JPG (ie 8-bit depth). I did not realize that this is impossible, because JPG only supports a 24-bit (16M)...
