Thank you Pierre. I assume that you meant "lossy" (not lossless). I still know what you meant. I guess that my long-winded post was just another way of saying that, using many many more words. :-)

Hi,

I think this is more for everyone's information. Perhaps most readers of this forum already know this, but for those who don't --

I was confused when converting some TIFF images to 256 color JPG (ie 8-bit depth). I did not realize that this is impossible, because JPG only supports a 24-bit ...

"Properties" column shows incorrect # of colors

Subject: 0.94.2 -- "Properties" column shows incorrect # of colors

XnView: MP 0.94.2 64 bit
OS: Windows 7 64bit

When viewing images in the detailed list view, the Properties column always shows "16M" for 48-bit depth TIFF files. Perhaps it should show something like "281T". Or perhaps instead of ...
