Re: Can't view some files through Open With

This has been known issue for at least 8 years now... https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=32648 The issue is also applied to XnView Classic. There are many topics like this and in most of them @xnview asks if drag&drop works (with the answer is "yes") and then the solution is "check yo...

Open image in new window on demand

When "Allow only one instance of XnView" is enabled, there seems to be no way open a picture in a new window, not from windows explorer, nor from XnView itself. Would be nice if images opened from explorer open as tabs in one window, but still be able move an opened picture into a new window. (perha...

Re: Associate .jfif extension with XnView in Windows 10 [Version TBD]

Attempting open .jfif files from windows explorer launches xn, but it opens xn browser of the directory where the file is located instead. Opening .jfif from xn browser opens the image as it should. The same exact issue with other extensions, such as .ico This issue present in xn Classic and MP The ...

Motion photo support?

Hello. Samsung phones have a feature to record a few seconds of video with each photo (iphone have it too). As my understanding, the video is somehow attached to .jpeg itself, would be awesome if xnview was able show these motions. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/samsung-motion-pho...

Re: Change default double-click View for ico files

Just bumping this topic, as this is must be a bug in XnView itself... On Windows 10 there is no "actions" for .ico files, however adding "%1" after a space to the end of default value in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\xnview.exe\shell\open\command fixes the problem So it should look like this (your ...

Re: [REQ] More user friendly check for updates, please

Huge improvement: xnview_check_update.png Sure, there is still some room for improvement (download and install directly without opening browser), but I'll take it, it's nearly perfect now. Thank you very much! P.S. The download button opens French version of the website. P.P.S. "Changes log" in fron...

Re: Xnview 1.99 Cannot set file associations

On Windows 8 x64 XnView doesn't even register as an associative application - it's not shown in "Default programs" list, therefore it's impossible batch set association with it without manually going through each extension via "Open with" context menu. I think that you use the ZIP version of XnView...

Re: Xnview 1.99 Cannot set file associations

But it's an Xnview Bug, if setting associations works with other image viewers. Sometimes, registry associations can't be made... Try 'open with' from context menu of windows explorer On Windows 8 x64 XnView doesn't even register as an associative application - it's not shown in "Default programs" ...

@xnview: it's possible, that I'm confused about how frequent it was showing update popup message, because I have xnview on several computers, perhaps it was on more then one computer a day I was using...anyhow, this topic is about the message itself and common sense convenience ;) @obelisk: If you d...

Re: [REQ] More user friendly check for updates, please

I meant xnview itself. When it checks for updates, it connects to duncan.xnview.com where file with latest versions information (I don't want post it's name) doesn't exist. That file, however, exists at xnview.com I mentioned this just in case you guys are not aware of this. But that is besides the ...
