When resizing you can choose which interpolation method to use (they differ in slow to quick, low quality to high quality, kind of transformation etc.).
But for the other of MP's geometric transformation - rotation - there isn't anything like this.
I couldn't even find which interpolation method is ...

Category Sets not only for (un)setting, but also for searching
Categories (in other applications they are called tags etc.) can be used
for both setting and searching.
There are two "types" of categories:
(A) as keyword (freely chosen)
(B) as structuring element (that's what I would call a category).

The bug is still there:
"Changelog" links to
viewtopic.php?f=82&t=46271
It's not easy to find the right changelog.

Re: JXL: JPG/ GIF Embed-Mode
I checked in newest XnViewMP v.1.7.1.
Still JXL lossless encoding of an (untouched JPG or GIF) produces the wrong format.
Please have a look at it, as it is one of the important advantages of JXL:
Encode JPG/ GIF lossless in about "zero time", and to a size of about 80% (of the orig file).

Identity Hald CLUT is buggy
HCLUT_Identity_Level8.png (in Addon/clut/identity.zip) is incorrect:
It is horizontally "left round-shifted" by 1 pixel.
NB:
Please report to original source too

Re: Jpeg2000 Massive Image Conversion - Part 2

Irfanview use fewer Ram to load the file. Maybe it is possible to limit the ram usage, but more ram should load the picture file faster.
But didn't you state that IrfanView uses much less RAM and still loads faster than XnViewMP???
(I tried myself with GIMP (64 bit), but with only 8 GB ...

Re: Jpeg2000 Massive Image Conversion - Part 2
+1
If XnViewMP uses 40 GB (16 + 24) to load a jp2000 file,
where IrfanView (64 bit) does it with 2 GB,
that seems to be a big bug in XnViewMP/ jp2000 decoder.

them into an internal representation too and offers

Re: Category system, SQLite DB, table "Tags"
No, you do misunderstand.
It's NOT about files, but about categories.
In Xnview.db there are entries in the "Tags" table
that are not seen in XnViewMP anywhere.
Long time ago I removed them.

Re: Special Items: Top10 assigned category patterns
I was curious so I developped the DB analysis for myself in C++ (mingw),
the CLI is in German.
I enclosed the binary files. Place a copy of your XnView.db beside it.
Type an X for choosing XnViewMP mode, E is for generating a random db.
The output should be self-explanatory.
I was quite surprised ...

Category system, SQLite DB, table "Tags"
In the table there are items that are not shown in XnViewMP.
EDIT:
It' worse:
Some files are assoziated with the "invisible" categories,
not shown anywhere (except in the db of course).

Re: JXL; multithread for encoding
Checked in v. 1.4.3
... still doesn't support it.
"MP" stands for "Multi Processor"?
When used with standard option -q 90
it takes half as long to encode
when multithreaded.
The lib supports it - by default.
