When trying to install XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb on Ubuntu 23.04 I get the following error message:

I didn't know that difference, but in the ubuntu manuals for version 20.04 I found:
"gvfs-trash has been deprecated and it is redirected to gio trash"
So as I am on version 22.04 (Gnome) I surely have gio trash.

I am am working with xnview mp 1.3 on Ubuntu 22.04. (and before on older versions of xnview mp an Ubuntu)
My options are set to move deleted files to trash, i.e. recycle pin.
But when I look and search there, I can't find any of the files deleted before with xnview mp.
Am I making a mistake, are ...

I'm having the same problem.
Xnview worked for me well in Ubuntu 19.10 and before, in Ubuntu 20.04 I get the error message
"error while loading shared libraries: libopenal.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
The same thing when I try to reinstall it via /opt/XnView ...
