It is much faster in Windows Explorer. However, I suspect that it is due to Windows, as I already have an extremely large number of files and the data is on a Raid6 with hard disks.

If the folder bar is displayed and there are a lot of folders with a lot of images, then it takes an extremely long time to gain access via the network (XnviewMP hangs). As soon as the data has been read once (in the cache?), there is no more delay in access.
