You may have overlooked a new browser>filelist>option:

Set 'scan headers in folders' option to 'never'.
-this will cause Xnview to recognize by extension instead of scanning
each file for content. This will speed things up in directories with
huge numbers of files.

Yes, right click pop-up-menu still works. PageUp, PageDown, ESC
freezes when Xnviewis used to change file attribute in view-mode.

1. Browse photos in full-screen.
2. Display properties using right mouse button.
3. Change file attribute. Uncheck 'archive'.
4. Program freezes.
5. You can <alt + Tab> out and return to program. It will continue
working after this.

Currently, if one searchs for files, they are brought up into
browser and filter-box displays: '<Search results>'.
After viewing a searched file by pressing enter and returning to
browser, all files in directory are displayed. Not the searched
files. The filter-box displays: 'C:\in'. Can Xnview ...

With settings of: desktop, F11, hide Xnview, multiple capture,
save to directory, it might be more useful not to bring Xnview
to the foreground each time F11 is pressed.

Generally, would it be better not to bring Xnview to foreground
upon each capture when Xnview has been placed in background ...

So far, I have not been able to recreate when values are reset.

Rarely, values can be set manually to exactly 800x600 if windows
start-bar is not 'always on top' and Xnview window is readjusted
in view mode. This can cause window frame to appear in full-screen.

Yes, thats it. It simply displayed text over captured image text.
Not a problem.

The following xnview.ini values got mysteriously readjusted causing
menu bar to appear in full-screen mode (800x600 desktop resolution):
Width=799 changed to 800 *
Height=572 changed to 600
X=0 changed to 2
Y=0 changed to 1

*Its the 800 value instead of 799 which causes the menu bar to
appear ...

Often, performing the steps above displays an odd toolbar with multiple
xnview & window sizing icons on it instead of crashing. Putting
text into clipboard always crashes it in full-screen mode.

Xnview crashes when importing clipboard while in full-screen mode.

1. View image in full screen.
2. Press print <Print Screen>
3. press <ctrl shift v>
4. It crashes to destop

Xnview displays two overlapping texts in fullscreen when viewing an
imported clipboard with filenames displayed.

1. Select show information in full-screen option '<Directory><Filename>'
2. Display image in full-screen.
3. Press print <Print Screen>.
4. Exit full-screen by pressing <ctrl f>

Similar to 'corrupt file jpg' problem above, a non-jpg file renamed to jpg
produces similar results:

1. Turn off 'use shell context to open picture'
2. Turn off scan headers in folders.
3. Rename text file to text.jpg
4. Look for text.jpg in browser mode.
5. Right click open displays: 'Format ...

Yes, my first post was too confusing. Allow me to
rephrase.

Without 'use shell context to open picture' checked, shell context
is still used to open corrupt jpgs when <enter> is pressed in browser mode.
(I assume this applies to any corrupt file. This might be a way for problem
files to cause ...

I downloaded a jpg that would not appear in preview window.
Right click plus menu select open results in Warning dialogue saying:
'corrupted file' (I only tried this because of problem, I normally use
keyboard shortcuts and full-screen for ...

This option button only clears recent files, not directories.
However, Purge 'most recently files & directories' on exit option does
clear both files and directories.
