I just tested this in 0.99.7 and it now seems to work perfectly as expected. Thank you very much!

So, I checked with the new version. What I'm finding is that the batch rename now appears to be working correctly in all folders except for the base path folder. Which is to say, for the folder specified in Settings > Catalog > Base Path, no images in there are working.

Yeah, I tried a few different ones, couldn't get any of them to show up in the "new name" field in Batch Rename.

Hi Pierre, I've tried testing the feature. I can't seem to get it to do anything, though.

It should be in Batch Rename > Name Template > Extra > Categories, right? Or is it something else?

This is actually for the purpose of organizing illustrated images, not photos. I'm aware that writing to the images' metadata is an option and I'm still considering that, but I'd prefer not to go that route if I can keep it all in the XnView catalog instead.

I'm not sure if this is by design or not so I placed it in suggestions instead of bugs. But when you use ctrl or shift to select multiple catalog categories and then press the delete key, it only deletes one of them (the one you selected last). Would it be possible to make it so you can delete ...
