i'm wrong, do you use match>current folder?
No, I use the Filter by... icon (the funnel) above the image thumbnails, displayed for the current folder.
so you open the file in edit mode?

Filter not kept when displaying images
Not sure if this is intended behaviour, but to me at least, it is a nuisance/bug:
1. On a file list, apply a Filter by ... with any condition (e.g. all images marked "red" or rated "Good", or whatever). A subset of the images is shown.
2. Double click on any image, or press F11 to display it ...
