Thumbnail cache database: use WebP compression
It's well known that WebP provides a much better quality/size ratio along with alpha mask support, so using it for the cache-db could provide two advantages - smaller size and/or better quality. And lossy low-quality compression can still store the alpha channel, which can used when drawing the ...

Enable custom background color if thumbnail shadows enabled
Currently when "Options->Browser->Thumbnails->[x] Use shadow" is enabled, it is not possible to set custom browser window background color, which is quite a nuisance when a dark Windows theme is used, for example. It would be really great if XnView would allow both options at the same time.

JamesGT, just google for "xnview 1.95 download", there are plenty of archives maintaining older versions of software (filehippo, afterdawn, etc)

please, fix it someday not too far distant in the future :-)

FileProps dialog - no Ctrl-Tab/PgDn(Up) kbd nav.
FileProperties dialog (Alt-Enter) currently has no support for ultra-handy standard GUI keystrokes Ctrl-Tab / Ctrl-PgUp(PgDn) which should switch dialog's pages ('tabs').
p.s. btw, it'd be great for dialog's caption bar to have the File's name (e.g. Properties - filename)

folder history combobox :: no keyboard navigation
atop of FileList pane a combobox with folder history list is placed.
It is accessible only via mouse point-n-click - no way to activate it via keyboard .
When the combobox has keyboard focus (text insertion cursor blinks there), it responds to a standard Windows keystroke (Alt-Down) to unroll the ...

[Suggestion] In-memory extracting of archives
Currently browsing a zip archive is though immensely handy feature of XnView but it leaves thousands of temporary extracted files and those are NOT deleted (which alone is a bug of course).
