turns out it's in,

userFolder/.config/xnviewmp/xnview.ini

I couldn't fin the xnview.ini I looked in my user folder and in the opt/xnview

So for anyone that has a similar issue:

I ran in terminal and it showed my what folder it was trying to start in, so I went to that folder and renamed it, this allowed xnview to startup and work, then I just navigated ...

I'm on linux, ubuntu, and evertime I start xnview MP it just freezes, can't click anything.

I wonder if it's because it's auto browsing to the last place I was, and there must be some file there it doesn't like?

However because it is frozen I can't tell it to start somewhere else,
