Re: Default resolution for PS/PDF files
it would make much sense if XnView used different DPI values for thumbnail creation and displaying.
That would be great and would solve two problems in one go (slow thumbnail generation and bad pdf resolution), if that is indeed the issue. 72 dpi is plenty for a thumbnail. Its only when opening ...

Re: Default resolution for PS/PDF files
It's the first setting I change. PDF files are unusable at 72 dpi.
The problem is.... generating the thumbnails becomes quite slow in folders with several pdf files (talking about image and vector single page files). I've got it set to 150, which is still slow for large folders, but usable.
Is there ...

Re: How can I open multiple browser windows in XnView?
Hello,
Is it still the case that we cannot open multiple browser windows in XnView?
At the moment my solution for this is to open one instance of XnView normally, and another instance through the command line in MacOS. Would be great if there was a simpler way.
Joao

Re: Bug in pdf thumbnail and display
Been too busy to check on this but found some time today.
Cannot reproduce the issue anymore, both in XNViewMP 0.99.7 and the new 1.0 beta 2. Homebrew tells me that the Ghostscript version remains the same. The only ghostscript dependency that got an update since I opened the issue was little-cms2 ...

Re: Bug in pdf thumbnail and display
You have not multiple gs??
In /usr/local no. LaTex is using the homebrew gs - I don't install the one that comes with Mactex. Just opened a terminal with the standard Macos path, there is no gs there. Can't think of anything else installing it apart from Conda.
Good to know that everything ...

Re: Bug in pdf thumbnail and display
Thanks so much for checking it out on your system. I was afraid of that.
I'll update the original post with the system specs. The ghostscript version is 9.55.0, installed by homebrew on /usr/local/bin as standard.
I'm not sure how xnview has access to it unless that path is coded in though, as it ...

0.99.7 Mac: Bug in PDF thumbnail and display
Recently, I've come across this bug that shows up with certain matplotlib (with tex backend) created pdfs.
Xnview correctly generates the thumbnails and opens the file. But the background is grey. It should be white (it's a white box background, no transparency). Other Mac apps open the file and ...
