XnView Software

A friend has given me a method which has now been working perfectly for two weeks.

Open Notepad in Windows
enter exactly: start /b affinityphoto2.exe %1
exit
Click Save, select All file types and save the file to the Desktop as "AffPhoto2.bat
In XnViewMp select Open With and then Configure ...

Thanks, done that but still doesn't Open With

Sorry doesn't open at all from "Open With" even though it shows Affinity in the panel.

Thank you but, sadly it didn't open from the Open With link.
I will now just have to dispose of XNView and rely on the {Pictures folder unless I try Brdige to ee if that works.

I hope it is released immediately because I'm on the point of dumping it and swallowing the cost of Lightroom/Photoshop

I want to open a file into Photo 2 from XNView MP.

I got to thed point where Photo 2 was added to the configure programmes but clicking that as Open With, it did not open Photo 2. The link to open V1 worked perfectly.
Am i missing something in looking to find the exe file because I copied and pasted that. Only line 3 worked ...

Please could you do a step-by-step so that I can understand how to do this.
Sory to be a pain but I guess I'm not the only semi-literate computer user who needs hand-holding.
Would be most grateful for your help.

Can anyone help with how to get XNView MP to connect to the newly released Affinity Photo 2 please?
It will only connect to the Photo 1 for me.
