Re: Browser view never jumps to 'm'
M is shortcut for Show alpha
so, selection will not jump from image with alpha channel
That "feature" is stupid as it blocks an entire section of the file list from being accessible like the rest of the list. And such shortcuts are supposed to be mnemonic, there is nothing mnemonic about 'm ...

Browser view never jumps to 'm'
I think this has been persistent for many many versions and persists with 1.9.2 of XNView MP.
In the browser window, at least when sorted by file name, you can hit a key on the keyboard to jump to the first file starting with that letter. This works for the entire English alphabet... except for the ...

Browser view does not remember grid size
Not sure when this started, but I noticed it in 1.9.0 when I changed the number of thumbnails in the view by zooming, and it persists in 1.9.2. I now have it set to a view zoom that shows me five thumbnails in a row when the program is in full-screen, filling the viewport. Close and reopen XNView MP ...

Re: Slow load on my best PC
Hey gordol,
I understand how frustrating it can be when your best PC isn't performing as expected. Given the specs of your Dell Inspiron 3910, it definitely shouldn't be taking that long to load XnView MP.
Here are a few things you might want to check:
1. Background Processes: Make sure there aren ...

Slow load on my best PC
I have XnView MP (currently Version 1.4.2 64bits (Jan 23 2023)) installed on three PCs, and on my newest and bestest one, XnView takes about a full minute to load and become usable, the other two it's pretty much instant. I can get the full details of the "other two" if needed, but nutshell is they ...

Re: Slideshows ignoring Windows display scaling
This is still happening on scaled Windows displays with XnView MP Windows Version 1.4.2 64bits (Jan 23 2023). Update check shows this is the current version.

I have tried it on the Win11 desktop, at 100% display scaling, and it works properly.gordol wrote: Sun Jan 29, 2023 9:12 pm I have not tried this on my Win11 nor Win10 desktops, though both of those are set to 100% scaling.

Slideshows ignoring Windows display scaling
v1.4.2 in Windows 11. This worked properly in 1.4.0, didn't use this function in the short amount of time 1.4.1 was installed.
Slideshows are now showing images in such a way as to ignore the Display Scale set in Windows.

Re: Not saving Thumbnail size in browser view (Win11)
If you change the thumbnail size with the slider, close and reopen XNView, does it stay? Win10 or Win11?
I can live with it being "stuck" on needing to be set by column count as my use is to set it to show x number of columns anyway.

Re: Not saving Thumbnail size in browser view (Win11)
Correct. By size it is not saved. As in my top post, the only way I can get it to save the layout is by having changed the browser to show by column count instead of thumbnail size.

The defaults of "User (System)" and "Same as catalog". And by default, using an ini file instead of the registry.
