Yes indeed but it requires keeping an image file open as suggested by the ticket author. This is hardly practical. and doesn't work that well.

It would be interesting to be able to have several display panels or explorers like what is done in adobe bridge.

Oui effectivement mais cela impose de garder un fichier image ouvert comme le suggère l'auteur du ticket. Cela n'est guère pratique. Dommage.
Peut-être aurons nous la chance d'avoir cette option dans une prochaine maj, d'autant plus que le travail semble déjà maché.
Adobe Bridge l'a implémentée ...

the xnview.ini file is reset each time the application is restarted.

Sorry, I modified the xnview.ini file accordingly, the new values are well saved but it does not change the background colors of the subdirectories.
ex:
folderColor1=6 25 79
folderColor2=6 25 79
folderColor3=6 25 79
folderColor4=6 25 79
folderColor5=6 25 79

"in xnview.ini, you'll find folderColor1-folderColor5"
