No, XnView autoselects a random filename, its bizarre. And sorry for not saying what OS,etc I'm using.
Can someone please replicate this on their side, for example running ZorinOS in a VM?
I'm using ubuntu/ZorinOS. XnView MP 1.7.1 64 bit

Re: How to do 'Crop to Content'? like in GIMP/Photoshop
Thanks, how you're describing it is not like GIMP or photoshop, which, when one crops to content, it crops to the layers borders. But does XnView even have layers? Thats what i'm trying to do.

Re: Very slow startup time & image opening time for Linux Version 1.4.3 64bits
@cday, do you know of a way in linux where I can have a button in the 1st level right click menu that converts any photo to PNG?
I found a script but it only does one photo at a time, I want to select multiple & do this. Windows OS had all kinds of tools that did this exact thing.

Re: Very slow startup time & image opening time for Linux Version 1.4.3 64bits
@cday, I just reinstalled my ZorinOS(ubuntu based) and it seems to load very quickly now, so much better.
My OS might've been corrupt. I recommend anyone to reinstall their OS if XnView is lagging.

Re: How to change area selection appearance?
@cday: No, changing it under the view tab didnt remove it, right now that option doesnt do anything at all, whether on or off. But I recall 20 minutes ago,
when i turned it on it added even more grids to the area selection. What actually removed the grids completely was "Tools>Settings>View ...

that I should make a post about it.
I just recently installed & am trying XnView for the 1st time, I am used to using IrfanView for Windows 7.

Re: How to change area selection appearance?
@cday, thanks! The only other issue I have for right now is that I'm using ZorinOS(ubuntu based) & it takes forever for XnView to start up or load a photo.
Even if I have XnView's empty browser open already(the application already started). Whereas in Windows 7, even with a slow/failing SSHD ...
