any progress with the bug?

the maintainer at archlinux has created an alternate build which is using the system libs

just tested: same behaviour as the original

hmm, on my computer vlc plays both files fine.

useInternalVideoPlayer=false works partly, as videos now can be played again, but
one of the features I rely on is that xnview is one of the very view programs to show videos correct when its rotated by tags in the metadata.
with useInternalVideoPlayer=false videos are not rotated at playback (so ...

OK, I tried to also install the ugly plugins - no change. no playback of the video, only audio

I tried a cut file with only 4,5MB... still says to large.
Please provide a hint how to provide sample files.

How? if I drag n drop a video to this message window, I get a "File to large"
