Re: Raw files are sharp, but .jpg image thumbnails appear blurry
Thanks for the suggestion. Unchecking the "Use embedded thumbnails" option before rebuilding with larger size cached thumbnails does fix the issue of blurry .jpg previews in the XnView browser - thanks

Re: Raw files are sharp, but .jpg image thumbnails appear blurry
I have tried again the steps described in the link provided to ensure that I did it correctly, however unfortunately the result/issue remains the same - in particular, I tried the fix in the following lines. Perhaps the is not the correct fix for my case?

Streamlining image tagged / untagged status in single image view
Please consider showing the tagged / untagged status of an image in the upper right corner of the single image view, adjacent to the rating - similar to the way these two fields are shown in the Browser view.
I've learned recently that the tagged / untagged status is available in the info popup ...

Raw files are sharp, but .jpg image thumbnails appear blurry
hello,
I recently noticed that all of my .jpg file thumbnail previews look blurry, although the corresponding raw files are sharp, and the .jpg looks sharp when if I double click on them and view a single .jpg image at a time. Please see the attached screen snip for an example.

Viewing image Tagged / Untagged status in single image view tab
hello,
Is it possible to view the Tagged / Untagged status of a photo while in single image view tab? (by which I mean the view of a single which results from double clicking on an image in the Browse tab / mode).
When viewing a single image, we see the image rating in the top right corner of the ...

Re: XnView MP Metadata, Categories & Cataloging
For reference of anyone else with this question, it appears to me that if Tools / Settings / Metadata / "Write categories into images as hierarchical keywords" is deselected, then only the selected keywords are written to the selected files, and not the keywords corresponding to the parent ...

Re: XnView MP Metadata, user defined Categories in Edit IPTC dialog
Thank you for the reply, and explanation. I will try using Edit XMP instead as you suggest.
Fwiw, since there is no indication in the XnView UI (that I saw at least) that IPTC Categories & Subcategories were not fully functional in XnView MP, I was not aware that they are deprecated and therefore ...

Re: XnView MP Metadata, Categories & Cataloging
Thank you for the reply.
The issue (in my mind at least) is that the parent category /keyword - which was NOT selected to be applied to the selected image(s), is in fact assigned to the image and written to the file along with the keywords for the categories that were selected.

Re: XnView MP Categories & Cataloging Features wiki page doesn't match current
Thanks much for the reply. At the risk of pointing out the obvious, but some form of up to date documentation (wiki, help text, or otherwise) would be very helpful and welcome. I imagine that it might be a challenge with a small team and other efforts may need to take priority at times, but we would ...
