Actually, Pierre, it is resizing now. Maybe it was before and I was mistaken. Sorry about that. The other problem is that when I save the resized version to replace the larger one, (which is already only a copy), it tells me that I'll lose the metadata. I hope there's a way ...

Thanks for the reply, Claude, and the offer of help, but what do you mean by send a link to the TIFF?
I was using ACDSee 8 until I got my new laptop which has Vista. That version of ACDSee doesn't work with Vista, and in any case, it's terribly slow at opening large files.
All my Tiffs are 16 bit ...

Can't resize
When I try to resize nothing happens. I was thinking that maybe I had to resave the file to make it resize. The curious thing here is that if I do that, it tells me that the metadata wil be lost. I don't understand why this should be so if I'm resaving a tiff as a tiff, still. So, this is a double ...
