Discontinuity in slide shows including videos

Hi,

I like very much the possibility to mix images and short videos within a slide show. Unfortunately at the beginning and the end of any video clip the monitor becomes black for several tenths of a second, which is rather disturbing.

Changing cross-fading speed

Hi,

I like to suggest the option to adjust the slide show cross-fading speed for instance by a parameter to be set in Tools/Options/View/Misc./Slide Show/Cross-fading time (ms). I myself for instance would prefer approximately a 1.5 to 2 times higher speed.

I just found an additional drawback of the keys "/" and "*" for "fit to window" and 100% respectively: In case of large images, 100% corresponds with a magnification relative to "fit to window", and in this case the keys "/" and "*" makes sense. But for small images where 100% is smaller than "fit t...

I made a typing error. I would like to ask: Wouldn't it be better to have on as default setting? Hi, XnTriq, thank you for your detailed answer, but I understand only very few. In XnView transparency is not edited but only displayed, so far I understand. So I don’t understand the option Tools » Opti...

Hi, XnTriq, XnView v1.9X displays the image perfectly correct. Is the Use transparent index (<=8bits) or alpha channel setting ( Tools » Options... » View » View ) turned off in your installation, robotriot? I just had the same problem with a 32 bit PNG, and I solved it by turning this option on. So...

Hi, Pierre, I forgot one step in the description how to solved the problem: In Windows explorer you have to make a right mouse click on a JPG file, then "Properties"(!) > "Photoshop image" > "Create thumbs" (or "icons"?) > disable. About the c't article from april 2007: It was an article about conve...

Good news: I just found the solution! It has something to do with Photoshop 7.0 on my PC. I can solve the problem by a right mouse click on a JPG file in the windows explorer. There Photoshop obviously has installed an additional tab called "Photoshop image" ("Photoshop-Bild" in german) with only on...

Some further suggestions for the menu structure: * In "Edit" I would expect all operations changing the displayed image or all selected images. That includes also the operations "JPEG Lossless transformations" and "Change timestamp". * "Compare" in "Tools" is perhaps better in "View". * In the thumb...

Hi, Pierre 1 thumb per second when visible?? Yes, for 3MB images. For 150kb images about 10 thumbs per second. If I cover the thumb window during this slow thumb creation time with an other window like an explorer for instance, than the thumbs hidden by this window are created with the usual speed. ...

Hi, Helmut, * In the thumbs mode "Export" is in "Tools", in the image view mode it is in "File". Hmm, this one is difficult: In the image view you have one object the image and thus it is clear that the menu for saving and exporting is "File". But for the browser there's no clear object you are work...

Esc key does not stop thumb creation

Hi, According to the online Help the Esc key should stop thumb creation. This seems not to work even for version 1.91: I can not change to an other folder during thumb creation even after pressing Esc. Is this a bug or my special problem? By the way: Esc seems to be somewhat dangerous for that becau...
