I am using the flag "Fit over" now in XnView to scale to the shorter side. e.g. my pictures with 2592 x 3872 are scaled to 1536 x nnnn (n may be 2294 or anything else, depending on the ratio) My question is: How can I scale to the shorter side by using NConvert? I am using this command at the moment...

How did you create this picture? Is it a picture out of the camera, or did you made any rotations with any software. There is a lot of software that cannot handle the orientation tag correct. XnView can handle the tag, but there is a small bug by recreating the thumbnail of a rotated picture. There ...

I think there are 3 different cases: 1) Temporary rotate an image for display according to the orientation flag should not change the orientation flag. 2) Permanent rotation of an image with lossless JPEG rotation should reset the orientation flag, so that this image is not again rotated by any view...

'Browse with XnView' in context menu
I like the shell extensions of XnView (configured with sub-menues), but it seems to work only with pictures, not with directories. When I right-click on a directory, I have an entry: Browse with IrfanView. I would rather like to have an entry: Browse with XnView. How can I quickly browse a directory...

Wrong rotation display in most viewers
In most Viewers (including Vista Explorer) the orientation of portrait JPEGs is wrong, only XnView and some other viewers are showing the correct rotation according to the orientation flag. If I rotate a picture in the new Nikon ViewNX, only the orientation flag is changed (in NEF and also in JPEGs)...

Rating like in Nikon View NX
The new Nikon Viewer (ViewNX) has a 5 star rating that is compatible to Windows Vista.
I think it would be a good idea to add such a rating in XnView also.
At the moment, no other Viewer (except the Vista Explorer) is able to show this rating.
