Re: XnViewMP 0.51 slow
Most of my problem with this was solved with ctrl-W (instead of alt-f4 or the X button) and disabling session saving. It's still slower than XnView classic but much less so.

Re: XnViewMP 0.51 slow
I have the same issue but I have version 0.81 (has been problem in two previous versions too at least).
Here's screenshots from MS Resource Monitor during startup.

It's rather troubling considering I have the thumbnail database disabled.

Re: xplorer crash after image conversion with ShellEx - Win7
I've had the same issue since moving to Windows 7 though I might've as well had it in XP too. Win7 just detects the long period that Explorer has been unresponsive and treats it as crashed and restarts it automatically no matter if responsiveness is restored after, in XP it just hung for the ...

Re: Broken alpha
Disabling HQ zoom did make the quirky alpha remain.
Here's a reduced size version of it that exhibits the bug with HQ zoom on as requested, though: http://www.mediafire.com/?zmq2u0yeyql (~600kB)

Re: Broken alpha
If the display isn't buggy, then why does the greyness disappear when zoomed close enough? If it was only the file, the buggyness should be present regardless of zoom level.xnview wrote:But the display is not buggy, it's the fileEnmoku wrote:And regardless of that, the conversion is not the issue, but the buggy display.

Re: Broken alpha
Does this work with shellext (I don't have it installed)?
Options>General>Operations>[x]Ignore Alpha Channel
(effects conversion of transparent image)
No such option, and that wouldn't explain why some formats preserve the alpha channel and others (PNG) don't, unless it was a format specific ...

Re: Broken alpha
And here's what the image looks like if I remove alpha channel.
Are you sure that alpha is correct?
That's what the file had. As I said, it was game screenshot (one that the game itself produced), so only thing I know of correctness is how it is displayed and how it should (I know what the game ...

ShellEx 2.3: No context menu for BMP
Screenshots taken in Mass Effect (UE3 engine) are somehow unrecognized by the Shell Extension (the explorer context menu is missing). I hear Photoshop has a problem with these as well, but XnView itself (and MSPaint) seems to ignore whatever it is and works fine with them.
