Your image file has rating in XMP, so when i click on 'Category Filter' i have it , not you?

when you open a file in viewer, files in this folder are checked (for next/prev/...)

i think that 'tagging' (Shotwell) = 'Categories' (XnView), Tag in XnView is only used internally

Sadly the bug still exists , I tested XnConvert 1.106.0 and XnViewMP 1.9.5 on MacOS Sonoma 14.7.5.
I also edited ".xnconvert > xnconvert.ini" / "xnviewmp > xnview.ini" , adding the non-existing sortScript=true at the end, issue remained.

ok, i understand, you need to click on 'No' to remove ALL orphaned entries even those with categories.
