(j'avais comparé le checksum de la partie image avec ImageMagick, pour être sûr)

I would be quite interested to know what use exactly you make on dpi search or sorting.
(I am more in photography where I don't see any use)

Hmmm... there are interesting new features and I like this new version. It seems quite stable too.
But there are RAM issues and it takes much more memory than previous version. I did the upgrade but hope the developpers will correct this issue.

Nonetheless, I think the upgrade is worth but don't ...

I think this 1s delay is not necessary if responsiveness is properly managed, ie: whatever the user do, its' latest action is taken into account immediately and stops whatever was the previous job.

Or: every function should be on interruptable thread.

The subject of this thread, and the most important by far, is to properly cache images for simple navigation (ie: immediately show the picture when you press the navigation key). The new version deals about that: thank you, Pierre! :P.

I think the default behaviour should be what has been described so far (ie: 3 files in cache) and should be implemented as soon as possible.

Let's summarize...

Based on your ' current ' position, there is a ' next ' image and a ' previous ' image, in this order:
- Previous
- Current
- Next

What people want is to cache 'Previous' as well as 'Next'.
("Cache behind" only keeps 'current' in cache when you move forward, but it means that ...

When i call the delete API for thumb item This "auto thumbs cleaning" needs some polishing: XnView doesn't show you thumbnails of broken images... when you should be able to see that there is a file with problem (and correct the file, if you want to).

I just discovered that XnView has been hiding ...

I confirm that even in folder with only proper pictures, XnView will scroll back to the selected thumbnail after thumbnails creation.

By the way, I also confirm that it happens if no file is selected (ie: what herr_k described).

A small update: I just crashed several applications by entering a folder with 7170 thumbnails (size: 279x279) => XnView used more than 1GB of memory before my system got memory issues (I have a fixed 800Mo swap).

Not really a bug, more a limit of the current implementation. But it should be ...
