BTW: See bug https://github.com/libjxl/libjxl/issues/727 and https://github.com/libjxl/libjxl/issues/426
There is a solution, manually tune the parameters.

Re: 0.99.1: JPEG-XL quality scale "0" confusion
0 is defined as "lossless". I am not the xnview maker, but comparing it to the command line conversion tool available from the jpeg-xl makers at https://github.com/libjxl/libjxl/actions/workflows/release.yaml 0 tries a lossless conversion. If the source is a JPEG the original cjxl tool will transcod...

Re: 0.99.1 Weird JPEG-XL view bug - depends on Filename!
Since this could be an JPEG-XL Library problem I issued a bug report there too since the command line tool cjxl.exe cannot handle unicode as well.

Convert from JPEG to JPEG-XL "transcode", like cjxl.exe .
The command line too CJXL does, when the source it a jpeg, TRANSCODE the destination .jxl. At least when using lossless (-d 0). Which gives me the guarantee that the destination will give me bit-exact the same view as the original, just using about 15% to 25% less space. And it is faster than full e...

Re: 0.99.1 Weird JPEG-XL view bug - depends on Filename!
Japanese / Chinese characters cause the same issue too, in both versions showing either a weird picture or simply being unable to open them, as long as they are JPEG-XL. They all don't render a thumbnail while browsing in XnViewMP too, while "normal" .jxl files do show a preview in XnViewMP. Seems l...

Re: 0.99.1 Weird JPEG-XL view bug - depends on Filename!
Oh, another one : D . XnViewMP cannot display it until it gets renamed. Just take "-девушка-теннис" out of the file name and it works. The original .jpeg works WITH the Russian characters.
I'll keep on converting knowing now where the problem is.

convert output at 48 Bit instead of 24 bit forced conversion
Is there a chance to get 48 bit output support into XnViewMP? Source (example): https://noirlab.edu/public/images/iotw2135a/ the "full size original" Target: .PNG 48 Bit and / or 48 Bit JPEG XL. Whether XnViewMP 0.99.1, XnConvert 1.92 or the command line nconvert 7.80: The resulting .PNG or .JXL is ...

Windows ARM64 build ?
Hi, it it possible to get an ARM64 build? Microsoft opened the ARM64 compilation , and since I have a Lumia 950 XL which has now Windows 10 Pro ARM64 installed instead of Windows Mobile 10 I do have an actual use (and test environment).

Focus stealing problem when running in the background with "delete original" enabled..
currently I am fighting xnconvert while it constantly steals my focus while doing a job in the background. See this video: https://youtu.be/etLiotll1hI The settings are: Convert to bmp to jpg and delete the original after conversion. One could argue that this is the 30+ years old "focus stealing" pr...

0.92 Xnview resets view on large screen (7680x4320)
XnView: MP 0.92 64 bit OS: Win10 x64 Monitor at 3840x2160, nvidia GFX card. My normal view size is about 1600x1800. XnView kindly remember the size and position. Using downsample (either classic of nvidia DSR) I can run 7680x4320 and up to 15360x8640. This is used to create 8k (or higher) videos of ...

Use RAISR or SRCNN for image resize for viewing
The current "high quality" rescaler also makes the images a bit blurry when scaling down by just 10%. Question is: Which algorithm is used anyway? Bicubi? Bilinear? Lanczos? What about the google RAISR algorithm at https://research.googleblog.com/2016/11/enhance-raisr-sharp-images-with-machine.html ...

Will you include Leptpon encoder/decoder? AKA "Dropbox jpeg"
Well, dropbox released their "save average of 22% on .jpeg with bit-exact correct result upon decoding" https://blogs.dropbox.com/tech/2016/07/ ... -at-15mbs/ https://github.com/dropbox/lepton XnViewMP would be the best place to integrate it for a mass-recode job, I cannot imagine any other program ...

Re: 0.78MP [Win]: Drag and drop photos copies instead of mov
Confirmed, me the same problem. Always copy, no move. Icons changes when pressing ctrl druring dragging, but still only copies. That is your fault, because CTRL forces copy, try with explorer. SHIFT forces move, ALT forces creating a shortcut. Using SHIFT as modifier xnview 0.78 does move the pictu...
