Re: Auto Orientation [Deskew]
Okay, understood. So a "real" deskew function would be feature request. In my case it's not a scan of a page but a photograph.

Re: Auto Orientation [Deskew]
Oh thank you - now I realized that it was about XnConvert, not XnShell. And the same commands as in XnConvert are available also from within XnView.

Re: Auto Orientation [Deskew]
Could somebody tell me where I can find this option? I'm using XnViewMP 1.8.6 and XnView Shell extension 4.1.12. I would be happy using it either in the programm or in the shell extension.

Re: Formatting of displayed information (EXIF/IPTC)
I was about to file a feature request, but searching for "altitude" I realized the feature is already there, just well hidden:
I would like to display the altitude information in the custom lines for miniature images. But the available IPTC/EXIF/XMP fields don't contain this item.

Reset archive bit when saving without changing file modified time
It is maybe not exactly a bug report, but I think here XnView MP does not behave like it should be expected:
When saving a changed image without changing the file modified date/time (because of preset), the archive bit is not reset.
I think, usually, when you save changes to a file (whether with ...

"OpenWith" feature - where has the configuration UI gone?
There used to be a way to configure different external programs to send images to from XnView. I believe it resided in the Tools* menu. But I can't find it any more.
The external programs I had previously configured can still be invoked via keyboard shortcut, and in the xnview.ini I can still find ...

Re: Batch rename error with associated files
Hello,
I'm on Windows version 1.4.5 and I believe the issue is not yet solved.
My companion file settings:

When I select a range of jpg files along with their RW2 companions and try to batch rename them, I get the newly introduced alert:

Misleading translation error in German: Clear templates/Vorlage löschen
Hello,
in the German version of XnViewMP on Windows v. 1.4.5 in the dialogue for Batch rename the button "Clear templates" is translated with "Vorlage löschen". This is singular, it must be plural "Vorlagen löschen".
This is particularly misleading, because (in my opinion) a button to clear the ...

This would be nice. And would not mess up other users' routines which are adapted to the current behaviour.

Saving image should reset archive attribute (even if date/time stamp unchanged)
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature request, but I believe the expected behaviour is different from the current:
When you set "keep original date/time" to yes, not only the date/time stamp of the file stays unchanged, but also the file attribute "Archive" stays untouched (at least on ...

Name of copied files in same folder - postfix instead of prefix
When a copy of a file is made in the source folder, it can't keep the name of the original. Therefore it is prefixed "copy of" (or at least in the German version: "Kopie von"). This results in the file being sorted anywhere but not next to the original. Could this be changed to a postfix? Like e.g ...

Re: 1.0 [7.110]: XnViewMP browser ignores certain jpg files
That was it, thank you!
I would like to know, how that "{ext};" got there. And why this affected only some jpg files and some not.
Best regards

I can't seem to find what you mean. "Companion settings" must be in line 875:

Re: 1.0 [7.110]: XnViewMP browser ignores certain jpg files
This works! How come? Does XnViewMP consider some of the images companion files after the update?
And is there a workaround? Because I usually don't want to show actual companion files.
Best regards
Joachim
