This may seem like a minor change, but it helps a lot when I'm viewing images from from search results. Thank you!xnview wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 8:01 am * Select file from search results & switching mode - viewtopic.php?f=34&t=40063

Re: Export leaves an empty *.tmp file behind
I think that Windows Storage Sense (new feature in Windows 10) may get in the way when trying to reproduce this issue. Try disabling Storage Sense on Windows 10 or try on older Windows version.

Re: Select file from search results when switching between modes
My suggestion is to select the file in the browser search results when switching from a file view that was opened from the search results. And maybe even a hidden setting to never clear the search results when switching between modes even when switching from a file that is not in the search results...

Select file from search results when switching between modes
When you switch between browser and viewer (with a Switching mode shortcut, Ctrl+B, Toolbar Button...) XnView will select the viewed file in browser mode when you switch from viewer to browser. This is a feature that I find often useful, except when search results are displayed in the browser window...

Export leaves an empty *.tmp file behind
Very minor old bug. The File/Export tool creates two .tmp files (<rand>.tmp and <rand>.tmp .tmp ) in the temp directory each time you use it. Temp file with the double extension (<rand>.tmp.tmp) is the one that XnView actually uses and deletes afterwards, but the <rand>.tmp file that is not used is ...

Re: Redirect newsgroup.xnview.com to forum.xnview.com
Just curious: Is newsgroup.xnview.com or forum.xnview.com specified as canonical URL in the Google Search Console? In my experience setting the canonical URL is the best fastest way to tell Googlebot which page to index. But, canonical URL is already implemented on newsgroup.xnview.com via rel=cano...

I finally got the mask from my image by using IrfanView which seem to handle these files a little better than XnView.

Extracting alpha channel from grey scale PNG
I'm trying to extract the alpha channel from a grey scale PNG file without any luck. When I use the extract alpha channel option on XnView MP nothing seems to happen and on XnView the option to extract the alpha channel is grayed out. Converting to 32-bits first doesn't work either, on XnView MP I j...

0.64 Zoom 100% button in Batch convert dialog doesn't work
The 'Zoom 100 %' button under the image preview in Batch convert dialog doesn't work. Also the button tool-tip says 'Zoom in' instead of 'Zoom 100 %'.

Contact sheet with zero cols or rows crashes XnView
This is kind of a silly bug, but it's a bug nevertheless.
XnView crashes if you try to create a Contact sheet with 0 columns or rows.
XnView crashes if you try to create a Contact sheet with 0 columns or rows.

[SOLVED] Silent crash when saving a png file as png
Edit: I just realized that this issue was fixed in version 2.13 and I was still using version 2.12 -- When saving this PNG file as PNG, XnView crashes silently. There's no crash dialog or nothing, the xnview process just terminates. When saving in other formats XnView doesn't crash. Also, if you fi...

No more problems !! This morning, after a reboot (Windows update) the thumbnails are OK (just click Display/rebuild thumbnails for old files) Xnview MP is also OK. Apparently the trouible had nothing to do with XnView ! Indeed the thumbnails are fine now. The only patch to fix this, that I can thin...
