Fixed cropping

It would be great with an option to crop with a fixed size, so the picture will keep the ratio between width and height.

Upload to 23hq, flickr and photoshelter

It would be next to outstanding if there was a hook, so it is possible to upload pictures directly to 23hq, flickr, photoshelter etc.

Close button moved to the tab when showing one picture

May I propose that the close button is moved to the tab, when you have opened one picture. I makes more sense to do as for instance Firefox does.

It seems the results are closer when also doing autocontrast in xnview. But I am still interested as to how the transformation is done.

Autolevels

I just used autolevels and compared it to the autolevels from GIMP 2.4.5. They do not match. The images gets a bit lighter and gets a bit more contrast when using GIMP. How is it decided how to do the autolevels? And is autolevel lossless on jpg files?

Thanks for the update. So it is a feature specific for xnview, not something which are used in iptc.

IMHO, I think a program should be easy to use for a beginner. I think the smartest default will be to save it. The fact that you have an opinion whether to save in the file or in a db, says to me, that you know more than most users. Therefore, you should off course have the option to do as you pleas...

No, but what would be most common to assume. That the data is saved - as all the other data - in the picture, or that, that particular piece of data is not saved. I think that most people would expect it to be saved, and the people who does not want it saved can get an option, where they can turn th...

It would be nice if you could also copy with drag and drop (when right clicking), like it is possible in Windows Explorer.

Source code in Public repository

Have you ever considered putting xnview in a public repository, so people could help you develop xnview. For instance provide patches to your codebase, write tests or something similar?

I think it should be standard, not just an option. It is expected behaviour I think.

Ok. I think it should be standard to have it not cleared. That would be expected behavior, I think. Any reason why it is cleared on default?

But shouldnt they somehow be related. The very strong point about xnview is that it utilises iptc and meta data in the pictures?
