Re: Regarding the undocumented "NoDelayedPreview" option

But can you add the option to the options menu? Right now the only way to turn this feature on is to manually edit the .ini file. It would be used more if people can turn it on or off from inside XnView.

Regarding the undocumented "NoDelayedPreview" option

7 years ago, the NoDelayedPreview feature was added to XnView classic after this post http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=14601&p=73123

By adding NoDelayedPreview=1 to the browser section of the INI file, there would be no delay scrolling up or down between pictures with the keyboard ...

Re: Prefetching

Pre-fetching would be very helpful.

I would like to see the hidden option NoDelayedPreview=1 added to the MP version of XnView as it is in the normal windows version.
It has been included, secretly apparently, since 2008. I tried to add the option to the 64bit MP version on linux, but it did not ...

Re: No delay preview.

Is it possible to have teh NoDelayPreview option added to the option menu instead of manually having to edit the INI file to turn it on? Even semi-modern computers can handle this feature.

Better XCF support.

My friend and I both use The Gimp to draw. XCF is the format it uses to support all it's layers and such. I know XnView can open XCF files, but it only shows the very top layer, usually, and the display is somewhat corrupt even then, espceially scrolling around the image.

Another program I tried ...

That DOES work but there needs to be a column for sort by Extension. I never knew there was an extension sort because it was not one of the columns. "Type" in most programs means extension.

Could you add the Extension column in the next version?

Maximized Browser/windowed Viewer

This problem affects two options and has since I've used it.

First, I'll describe what I want to have happen. I want to have the image browser maximized. I want to have the viewer windowed. When I press enter to go to viewer from browser, I want the entire window to resize to the windowed view ...

Sort by Type problems

Sort by type only works when you allow XnView to scan the headers before you sort. Otherwise it just sorts them by name.

Sort by type also only works with picture type files. With or without header scanning turned on, "by type" sorting does not work on non-image files such as txt, doc, html, mpg ...

Go into XNView's options, click System Integration then set Save Options as an INI in XnView. Close XnView, Go to your XnView directory, edit the xnview.ini and put "NoDelayedPreview=1" with no quotes in the alphebetical position under the Browser Section. Save the INI

no in a way, yes in a way.

It is the basic idea, but it has not been updated and does not include very many of the suggestions posted. That means people still have to dig through the forum to see.

Finding Suggestions in the Suggestions forum.

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in but,

The suggestions forum is too full of suggestions, it's so hard to search for them that a lot of suggestions can be duplicated.

It may be easier to just copy the subject for each suggestion, and copy the link to it. Paste all of them into a ...

Mouse Copy/move/delete Folders in Tree Pane

Is it possible to allow folders in the tree pane to be moved with left mouse button clicking/dragging.

Select it like normal but instead of letting go, drag the folder somewhere else and drop it into a new directory to move it. I know I can right click and rename or delete. Those are helpful, but ...

NoDelayedPreview=1 added to the INI DOES help greatly, though it is not 100% successful. Holding down up or down does not show all the files but it does show most of them. Manually pressing up and down rapidly works very well now with no delay I can see.

It is much better than it was and I can live ...

Right Click Drag/Drop on Files

Hello, this is a basic file management suggestion, not relating to image viewing at all.

Is it possible to include a Right click drag and drop of files and folders? It would allow a menu to pop up when you let go at the destination(like Explorer) that gives the options of Copy, Move, Create ...
