I find that using a mouse if oftentimes not precise enough when selecting a free area to crop. Can the keyboard be used in conjunction with a mouse to further define an area to be cropped?

I currently use the grid and a custom selection size to crop the same area from a number of individual images. How to batch crop the same selected area for these images?
