Found via search, hit the same issue, in my case solution was go into Control Panel, Language Settings (region and language, etc.) click the ADMINISTRATIVE tab, click "Change system locale..." there it says:
"select which language (System locale) to use when displaying text in programs to do not ...

xnviewer crashes when viewing large jpgs
jpgs saved with photoshop, ~3.2MB cause xnviewer 2.12 to crash right away.
attached is a file from the crash report, renamed to .zip since txt is not allowed.

I am currently using Faststone - it's a good image browser and very fast.
FastStone opens CR2's extremely fast & displays them accurately.
XnView has the same speed if you use 'embedded thumbnail (jpeg)' in option/View/Misc/Camera raw
That should be the default. Many folks are clueless why ...

delete metadata when sending via email not working
Tested it several times, select image to send in email, not resize , just as is. do check the DELETE METADATA and press send, message gets to destination, however it contains all the EXIF data... am I missing something?
I know I can convert and create another copy, but trying to avoid that ...
