Is there a built-in method to manage Favorites after they've been added? I realize I can right-click and rename, delete, etc. but there doesn't appear to be a way to move an entry in the list.
Thanks.

Re: MP Doesn't load thumbnails
Could you please send the DMP file(s) to contact[ät]xnview[d0t]com for Pierre (the developer of XnView) to analyze?
Yes. Having done that a few time already, regarding other crashes, Pierre & I have had an occasional dialogue, but there's no futher clue yet.

Does this occur with other folders too?
Is Enable thumbnail caching in T ools » Settings... » Catalog » Catalog » Cache maintenance activated?
If so, could you please Rebuild thumbnails for Cache directory Z:\Artefacts\Imagery\Photo\Calendric\2011\11\06\ ?

Thanks for the reply.
I'm filtering on Custom, though I have tried changing it with no effect.
Here's the screenshot.

MP Doesn't load thumbnails
Here's a side by side comparison of a folder in MP and Classic.
Why don't the thumbnails display in MP?
Is this controlled by one or more settings?
Is it to do with the folder location?
I'm stumped!

Solved! Unable to disable fullscreen view on 2nd monitor
The fullscreen mode is an option in two places - and I'd only changed it in one of them.
I'd been trying to deselect the option via the View | Fullscreen tab where Dual monitor, Use second monitor (Browser & Slideshow).
I'd forgot that there is an option in the Browser | Preview tab there's an ...

Hi Pierre,xnview wrote:if you press F11?
that temporarily disables it - but next image I move to brings it back.
It's something in the settings that fails to get overwritten.

Unable to disable fullscreen view on 2nd monitor
Unable to disable fullscreen view on 2nd monitor - when I de-select the dual monitor tickboxes and restart the application, the 2nd screen display persists. The tick boxes are ticked of theor own accord. De-selecting does not work.
How do I disable that feature?

Re: Setting to open in tabs
Ah, sorted.
View | 'Only one window view opened'
means one File View per tab rather than limiting the instances of Application Window to 1.

Setting to open in tabs
I've installed v1.97.4 on a new machine, and am puzzling over settings that I haven't had to look at for a long time.
For example, when I double click on an image in Browser view, I expect it to open in a new tab of its own. But all the images open in the same tab, so only one image is ever in view ...

Re: MPG/MPEG player gremlin
Very nice tool!
Looks like I'll have to do some digging around for the default codec, probably just reinstall my video drivers.
** update: have just reinstalled graphics card driver - fixed the problem.
No thanks to Logitech, then, for overwriting it.

pathname, FTP, automove, IPTC
XnView is very user-friendly - and would be even more user-friendly if I knew how to make it
a) copy the pathname of a given photo / set of photos to the clipboard;
b) configure an FTP client for automated upload to one or more sites;
c) change the default setting of drag & drop to move , rather ...
