Currently I found this feature in acdsee 15 and I definitely like it.
Usually I had to wait while viewer generates thumbnails for every new folder I browse. Most viewers work this way.
Now (wouldn't last long since I use trial version of acdsee) I copy my photos to HDD, run acdsee and force it to ...

[req] Ability to move/copy folders in browser
Please add an ability to move/copy folders as we can do with images now.
I am mostly using cut/copy/paste keys, probably some people would prefer to use drag-n-drop as well.
As I read in forums, XnView had that functionality only in tree pane. Maybe XnViewMP already has the same function, but I can ...

MP 0.31 Win, refresh after deleting files
OS - Win7x64.
Deleted 1300 files in browser tab, CPU usage went to 100%, xnview froze for ~1-2 minutes (Q6600 cpu, usage on single core).
IMO, this is unacceptable time.
Second 'bug' - current browser position moved to some random(maybe, I can't see any differences in files) place in folder after ...

MP 0.26.1win ESC key opens parent folder
Tested on Win2008r2 and Win7x64.
ESC key from view mode opens browser not in current image's folder
Steps -
1. I associate xnviewmp with jpg/bmp/any image file (through 'open with' dialog) and open the image (xnview starts in view mode)
2. If I press ESC it opens parent folder instead of current ...

Re: Is there any way to suppress errors?
That helped ^_^. It's much easier when you know what to search for.
Command string should be nconvert ... ... ... >>logfile.txt 2>>errorlogfile.txt
I never know that windows had more than one output pipe just like linux...

Is there any way to suppress errors?
Seems like -quiet switch doesn't suppress error output. I still get " Error: Can't create file (...)" errors on screen. >nul doesn't work either.
Anyone know some way I could hide errors? I use batch file with simple errorlevel checks and the users should see only "<file> - OK" or "<file> - error".

Re: Differences in nconvert&xnview jpeg compression
After a few experiments with xnview (not nconvert as previously) I can say that it's because of "subsampling factor".
My mistake, I didn't try it on a lot of different pictures. All of my source images had a lot of small detailed objects (leaves).
I guess that's what the subsample setting is for, so ...

Differences in nconvert&xnview jpeg compression
Just the other day I compared jpegs that were generated with xnview and nconvert. Whatever I tried, I could not reach xnview's quality with nconvert. XNview's jpeg was always a bit sharper and cleaner that nconvert's one.
Maybe someone can tell me what's the differences are? Judging by common sense ...

Problem converting, compressed png -> uncompressed tiff
I use NConvert 4.95, WinXP (which is named 4.92 in downloads).
While converting png to tiff (-out tiff -D *.*) I always get a compressed tiff file. Compression is lossless (not jpeg).
I tried using option "-c 1", it doesn't work. Tiff file size is the same. Other compression options (-c 1, -c 2 etc ...
