please make it open source.
XnViewMP is the best image viewer but is sadly full of bugs (I am sorting out my images now and it keep crushing all the time. Like 100x a day no kidding).
It is obvious that is more simple to just revise code than writing it.

Hi, I tagged faces for all my pictures in Microsoft Photo Gallery, than I use ExifTool to write RegionPersonDisplayName to subject, and to hierarchicalSubject with prefix "MyTags|People|".
I have "Import XMP subject or IPTC keyword to DB Categories" checked and "Read hierarchical keywords" as well ...

Hello, I have similar problem with version 0.72 x64 (Dec 19 2014) on Windows 8.1.
When I open *.jpg from Total Commander and than double click to switch to browser it crash. Next time when I open XnViewMP from shortcut it keep crashing until set PathBrowser in xnview.ini to empty or if I set start ...

Hi, I would like to have feature which will filter pictures in folder by keywords found in IPTC or XMP.
It can work like this:

my idea is like Thumbs.db in windows

It would be fine to save the category.db file to the folder with pictures as well. If the folder with pictures is moved to another computer, the information about categories and the rating will be lost
