Re: No mp4 or gif files
Yes. I can see the thumbnails of jpgs and other foto files, but nothing is visible in the folder where I have my mp4s and gifs. It looks like the folder is empty. It isn't, the files are still there, I just cannot see them, no thumbnails.

No mp4 or gif files
I had to download MP again but now I cannot see any mp4 or gif files in my viewer. I have a separate folder for video files but it is now empty. No files are visible at all. What happened?

Re: Crop trouble
That was it. Thank you very much. I don't remember having changed anything myself though, but the main thing is that now it works like before.

Re: Crop trouble
No, I am not able to make a selection. The mouse pointer does not work on the picture. No selection appears when I try to drag the mouse over the picture. The "Crop" icon is grey without colour and does not work either. I am also not able to undo/redo anything. And because the selection does not ...

Crop trouble
Why can I suddenly no longer crop a picture? I used to click the pointer in the picture and then drag it so that I got the shape and size I wanted. Then I just clicked the crop icon. Now the icon is grey and the whole cropping function does not work. Neither does undo/redo or paste.
I tried to ...

Re: How to get rid of an unwanted menu
Hip, hip - Hooray!
I found a simple work-around. In the Interface - Mouse settings I changed: Mouse wheel to Previous/next file. By rolling the mouse wheel the pictures move easily, smoothly and actually more quickly back and forth without any disturbing menus popping up. Quite easy and perfect for ...

Re: How to get rid of an unwanted menu
The .ini files probably have identical filenames if you check, possibly one of them was not in the correct directory, although it is hard to see how that could happen unless you had been accessing them and screwed up. But even so that is at least rather surprising!
I only deleted the ini file ...

Re: How to get rid of an unwanted menu
Were you able to test with a different mouse?
....
Not necessarily, different software implementations, maybe something in the Qt framework used in XnView MP, or a timing in the detailed XnView MP code make it less tolerant of variations in mouse timing...
I managed to get another mouse from ...

Re: How to get rid of an unwanted menu
I might be inflating this issue out of proportion but I discovered something unexpected. While I was trying out different settings on MP I happened to have the Classic open at the same time. When I then returned to Classic to try the mouse I found out that all the changes I made in MP had been ...

Re: How to get rid of a toolbar
I normally have the right mouse button set to 'make a selection' by dragging a rectangle, which is working normally. When I set the right button to 'next picture' I usually see what you are seeing with the unwanted context menu, and when I saw a similar problem last year, I think it was resolved ...

Re: How to get rid of an unwanted menu
Thank you so much for your help.
It is peculiar that I do not have the same problem in Xn Classic which I am using almost daily. Everything works fine and the whole Settings thing seems to be identical. I might compare the settings page per page, although it is tedious.

Re: How to get rid of a toolbar
Reading my original post I noticed I perhaps need to be more specific. When I click right/left I do get the next picture ok, but on top of that new picture floats this unsolicited toolbar thingy.
