[Linux] gstreamer 0.10 -> gstreamer 1.0
I think it's finally the time to migrate the code to gstreamer 1.0. Lots of distros, mainly legacy ubuntu releases which only carry gstreamer 0.10, have long hit end of life/support. So I think it's safe to drop gstreamer 0.10 and move away to gstreamer 1.0

Use XDG spec dir to store config/user data
For Linux build, it would be nice if XnConvert complies this specification: http://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/basedir-spec-latest.html
Instead of lumping everything into a dir in the root of user's home dir, segregate configs, data and cache into ~/.config and ~/.local/share and ...

Make right click menu customizable
Can you make the right click menu in both browser and view mode customizable so users could select and have only their frequently accessed menu items in the menu?
As of now, the right click menu is too long and overloaded with many menu items that most users would very rarely have a need for. On ...

Please prompt users for UAC elevation
I think users should be prompted for UAC when trying to change any settings in preferences that require admin privileges like file association. Having to start XnView as admin just to change file association doesn't look as intuitive solution.

Re: File Associations are NOT working on Windows 7
budz45, it's not just you
I am also having similar issue here. Sometimes the changes you make to file associations don't stick next time you launch XnView. I'm guessing Its a problem with UAC. Shouldn't the app ask for admin permission so it could make changes to registry when users change the ...

Thanks. We finally have the -floyd switch added in 5.54 but I'm not sure why every time I use the switch it returns this error " Bad argument -'floyd'"

NConvert vs XnConvert
I looks like XnConvert is a stripped down version of XnView which the sole purpose is to convert images only and while NConvert does the same but in command line interface. Is there any different in term of converted images quality when using these 2 converters? Which of these 2 converters has most ...
