Thanks for the discussion on the 'tree mouseover'.
Just wanted to shift the post back onto the fullscreen browser idea. Anyone have any comments on this?

Browser Fullscreen
I would really like a browser fullscreen mode. I have seen a mention of this but I am not sure it was quite the same as I was thinking, so please forgive me if this is going over old ground! For me, this would mean that the window expands to remove the menu bar and title bar. Also the window should ...

Ok I have had a go at this. I have a partial solution. I have copied xnview to my removable disc on which I keep pictures (the laptop HD space is at a premium) and set this version up to use a cache in the xnview directory. For xnview without the extHD I use the normal installation. OK, great. This ...

I haven't known until know, that's good news. But how would this be used to create an offline cache on CD? Hum, right there is perhaps a problem... I must check... OK if this is possible then great. I dont necessarily need the cache to be in the directories themselves, although a single xnviewthumb...

1) You can put it on a cd with your pictures and run it from there, no installation needed. This is possible win XnView if you download the .zip-Version. I do this with all my foto CDs that I give to friends. You can even save the slideshows and put them to the autorun.inf. OK, thats useful. But th...

Comparing xnview to vallen jpegger
Ok, so the two don't compare. xnview is by far the best viewer I have found. It is much more customisable and has bags more functionality. I don't know how I managed before I found xnview However Vallen Jpegger has a few features than xnview needs: 1) You can put it on a cd with your pictures and ru...

XNview could use a file like Paint Shop Pro's JBF file (but with xnview quality thumbnails) This way the cached thumbnails would be available on every machine that the CD was put into! My idea is that an item on the tools menu could be used to create this file in every directory on the hard drive (...

Renaming Directories in Browser
I have experienced a bug with 1.80.3. If I have a directory named "something" and I rename another directory "nameless" to "something" by mistake then instead of notifying me XNview puts "nameless" inside "something". Very odd! Worse if I rename "something" to "Something" then it puts it inside itse...

Toolbar
The toolbar is great, I love the ability to customise it..... ...but I have a request. I would like buttons to turn on the preview and folder tree views. Also when you turn on the preview it should remember where it was, which it doesnt now! (I am using the layout with the three vertical slices, the...

Just been doing some research and I notice that JPegger works in exactly the way I suggested above. Shame really that the program isn't as nice to use as XNview. Whilst on the subject of JPegger the way you can have the program layout. ie switch between the preview panel or the thumbs, or the tree a...

How about an item in the tools menu to 'add a tree' to the thumbnail cache rather than only doing so when each directory is first entered?

I have a suggestion which would work well XNview could use a file like Paint Shop Pro's JBF file (but with xnview quality thumbnails) This way the cached thumbnails would be available on every machine that the CD was put into!
