It crashes too much under W10.
The easiest reproduce is leave xnview open, then open up a new desktop. Most of the time it will crash.
Rarer, but still present is leaving xnview open then goto another program on the same desktop

Pressing Ctrl+5
Hi,
I press Ctrl + 5 to give a photograph 5 star rating.
However it never seems to save to Windows' star rating system in Windows Explorer? Why is this and is there a setting I can use or is it just not compatible?

Re: Bug: Xnview can't seem to pickup tag changes
furthermore, XNview likes to create two duplicate categories too.
Like it'll put "Landscape" at the root level, then it seems XNView likes to add "Landscape" again under the undeletable "Other" category.
Then the same image will appear both under the two landscape categories.

However if I change a few tags with Picasa or Explorer.exe and I revist the folder in Xnview, it cant' seem to pikcup the changes made to the files. Ev...

Re: Automatic database
Sweet thanks!
This feature coupled with the ability to search and combine tags.....well it would rival Lightroom in terms of photo organisation!

Automatic database
Hi, I was just wondering is it possible to get the categories to automatically update based on exif tags? Currently with .51 the categories will only update thumbnails and keywords/categories once you visit the folder. I have quite a few pictures and folders underneath My Pictures. If possible it wo...

Re: XNView has the ability to be something really original
^ Yes!
These gestures, I hope, would not be limited to just picture viewing either. It could also work on a folder view level.
Anyone who uses an internet browser with gestures will know what I mean by this.

XNView has the ability to be something really original
Just using this software again after extended leave. (I really can't use XNView without tag searching ala Picasa's tag searching anway...) I just thought while using XnView's tabs that it would be an interesting idea to have mouse gestures like we do in Chrome and Firefox etc... It's fast enough to ...

Re: Request: searching sobfolders with tags
Thanks, Pierre. Is something like this possible to add though long-term?
I think it's useful since XnView uses a database, to be able to manage many thousands of images and search this database would make it quite powerful. Pretty much exactly how Picasa works when searching images.

Re: 0.38 Missing thumbnails when viewing categories
No, a picture can be tagged with three tags, it may show in one category but not the others. I've also went and deleted the cache .db file and xnview user directory and rebuilt it and it again failed pictures (different ones again). I can't quite seem to be able to find a clue/reproducible pattern f...

Re: 0.38 Missing thumbnails when viewing categories
I'm not sure what you mean by "Base Pathname"?
If you mean the option "Base path of your pictures" then yes, I have that filled out to the top level/parent folder where underneath all my photos are stored.

Request: searching sobfolders with tags
Hi there, I have photos that are set out as a folder hierachy on the computer. They are all tagged. So I'd like to start at the absolute root of all my folders and start typing in tag names - I think it would be awesome for XnView MP to be able to display these tags dynamically from all the child fo...

0.38 Missing thumbnails when viewing categories
Hi there,
I have photos tagged and when I view that category only some of them (around 20%) are visible, all the rest just display the filename.
I can't even double click them or right click and open in explorer. The ones with the thumbnails work fine though!
