I have made an installation of xnview in my notebook and I released that the histograms works fine.
So, I have uninstalled xnview from my desktop computer and I have deleted all information of xnview in configuration windows folders. After that I have reinstalled xnview and now the histograms are Ok ...

it seems there is some kind of issue in histogram showed by XnView (v1.98.5, Win Vista). It appears in all kind of images (more or less) some kind of peaks in RGB histograms. These peaks are stronger in shadows.
In the other hand XnViewMP represents a more smooth and realistic ...

It's clear that XnView works at 8 bit internally.
In the case of rotation images it may be useful to indicate (window warning or similar may be) if the transformation it's going to alterate the format of the original file.
It's a suggestion

Another problem related with tiff files in 16 bit gray scale is when you try to rotate (clockwise or counterclockwise doesn't matter) an tiff 16 bit gray scale. When you do it the image it's rotated normally but it's converted to 8 bit gray scale format.
