You don't need any prerequisites for AppImage itself while for Flatpak you need to first install it.
It has been around for 14 years it will probably be still there 10 years from now, not sure about the 2 others.

With the new version of fontconfig I experience the same thing that was explained here:
viewtopic.php?f=82&t=36326
that was fixed for XnViewMP but not for XnConvert it seems.

same issue here I lost 1 hour thinking i was cleaning up a folder
I was in scenario 3.1 described above and the fix was to add uid=1000 to fstab
then this is not ideal I preferred previous default setup. it would be nice if this could be fixed

Can we have an option to control the wallpaper filename as well?
I am using virtual desktops with Dexpot and it needs to refer to a fixed filename for the wallpaper.
The changing name of xn makes it impossible to use with Dexpot.
