• The DB is compressed automatically :
Options (F12) >> Thumb nails >> [Cache] tab
I×I Enable caching ticked and choose a compression method from the scrolling-list forward this box (I use ZIP ).

Hi Claude ...

I download and take loads of pictures/graphics files and regularly transfer them to my external hard drive.

How does one compact the XnView database? Most graphics programs allow the user to do it manually, Picasa does it automatically.
