When the Problem occurs i dont delete the old ini. I can rename it but that doesnt solve the Problem.

No, but i deleted the complete xnview folder. after that there is no start delay. but then all settings are gone.
i can't test it because at the moment the problöem doesn't occure.

Hi,
i started using xnviewmp on Linux with Ubuntu 18.04 and i have the same error since years. From time to time for reasons i don't understand startuing xnview takes several minutes. When i start xnview in a terminal i have this:
The only thing thats "fixes" the problme is a reboot. Doesn't matter whether i use the DEB-File, TGZ-Archive or the AppImage.

1.8.3 deb packaged version does not open JPEG XL

OS: Linux 64bit (debian testing)
After updating XnView 1.6.5 -> 1.8.3 I seem to still unable to open JPEG XL files. No mention of JXL format anywhere in preferences.
Actual behavior (bug): If I try to open jxl file in file browser or directly call xnview in console I get error window "Error" "File can't be loaded!". Nothing out of the ordinary in console output as far as I can tell:
To reproduce:
1. Install deb package
2. Open jxl file with file browser, xdg-open or directly with /usr/bin/xnview
Expected behavior: It should work with JXL format.
If I try to use tgz packaged version - no such error occurs. It works fine with JXL format as far as I can tell.

Wayland connection breaks when viewport scaling takes longer than a few seconds
Effect: The application crashes
To reproduce:
1. Open a really big image while "ZOOM & MOVE" is enabled in the mouse settings
2. Click and hold the mouse button corresponding to Zoom & Move
3. Release the mouse button and keep moving the mouse
Actual behaviour (bug): The application closes / crashes
Expected behaviour: The zoom is being reset without the application crashing
Log:
After researching the last line in the log, it seems like that while XnView is updating the zoom (which can be slow on an iGPU powered system with huge images), the message qeue of the Window tends to run full - or the connection to Wayland times out.
A solution could be to move the viewport into its own thread, so that the window thread is still responding to the display protocol.
Adding the following line before the exec command in xnview.sh, it works, but the menu has some rendering issues as well as the icons are too small on hi-dpi displays:
It throws QT into X11 mode, which on a pure Wayland system uses XWayland compatibility layers.

The Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die?A solution could be to move the viewport into its own thread, so that the window thread is still responding to the display protocol.
Adding the following line before the exec command in xnview.sh, it works, but the menu has some rendering issues as well as the icons are too small on hi-dpi displays:

Impossible d'ouvrir une image dans un dossier caché
Bonjour,
je suis sous KDE Neon 6.0 avec XnviewMP 1.71 et j'ai un problème récurrent.
Si je veux ouvrir une image se trouvant dans un dossier ou sous-dossier caché, j'ai un écran gris et impossible de faire quoi que ce soit.
Si je le lance via une commande
ou
c'est pareil et aucun message d'erreur.
Par contre, si je lance xnview et que je vais rechercher l'image, là il me l'ouvre bien...
En regardant les retours de xnview, je vois qu'il scanne pleins d'autres trucs, POURQUOI ?!

Can't start XnViewMp on my Notebook with Ubuntu 20.04
XnViewMP works without problems on my desktop with ubuntu 22.04 but i can't start it on my notebook with ubuntu 20.04. I tried the *.deb and AppImage. I also deleted the config dir in ~/.config. The error i have when starting xnview in terminal is
