I trashed it yesterday including the ini, I went through the settings many times searching for something I failed to turn on. It crashed every time I selected Thumbnail/Labels/Color/Text & Background.

I trashed 1.9.8 +ini. Restored 1.9.5, works first time.

There is no "Settings>Thumbnail" on a Mac. If I change the background to a color, then the text to a color, XnView CRASHES in Tahoe.

Does anyone know if XnView is incompatible with Macintosh now????????

Suggestion
add 'Use transparency grid' option (enabled by default)
as a child of 'Use alpha channel' in Settings>Thumbnail
so that transparent images are more noticeable, like in digiKam and Bridge

I suggested another solution where the save dialog lists the settings that deviate from your designated norm. Certainly seeing the options in a ready way is very important.

Settings:View:Show navigator should be available in "Compare Files".

So, I just spent time experimenting with the different themes (Tools > Settings > General), and this does appear to be an issue with the "Custom" theme; all the other themes have a Conditions box color coherent with the theme's colors.
