In XnView MP 1.9.8 (Dec 4 2025), Batch Convert → , Output → PDF → Settings only opens the image compression dialog. The PDF Page/Layout tab (page size, margins, placement) is missing.
That is surely the way it always was, you are possibly thinking of the settings available in the File > Print ...

When you open these menu items for the first time after launch
"Tools - Settings" or "Help - About"
this takes several seconds and there is a high CPU core load.
(In XnView Classic these menu items open without delay)

You could try doing an "update metadata" (in catalog settings).
If that doesn't help, then I suggest you do the following:
1. Exit the app
2. Make a backup copy of your xnview.db and thumb.db files
3. Start the app, and delete all the directories from the catalog: Tools->Settings:Catalog
4. Rescan ...

do you have always the problem? What do you have in Settings>View?
Sorry for the late reply, but I can no longer reproduce this bug. On the other hand, I still notice similar image distortions, but this time they don't go away, no matter what you do with the UI except switch to fullscreen mode or ...
