Re: Print dialog: Caption and Header/Footer

But the problem is: Which picture info must i take for header/footer? I think this could be only a problem when I want to print more then one picture on one sheet of paper. When I print only one picture per sheet I can add all the logical (dyynamic?) functions - used in caption - to header and foot...

Print dialog: Caption and Header/Footer

The "caption" dialogue has a lot of "logical functions" (date, name, exif, ..) which can be used. Header and Footer have only "Page Number" and "Page Count". To my mind the disadvantage of caption is that its position is depending by picture height, and different pictures produce captions on a diffe...

Auto-rotate when printing

In posting http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=10648& there was a question on Nov. 18, 2006: If an image would fit the dimensions of the paper better by rotating tolandscape, it seems like best fit could do that for the user. Otherwise, choosing landscape isn't too hard. The posting is place...

Paulf wrote:On my dual monitor system, the program always starts on monitor 1 and will not remember position on monitor 2.

I have remember window position and size enabled in the options.
I have to confirm this behaviour: XNView, closed on Monitor 2, is always opened later in Monitor 1.

SE: Additional print function for Shell Extension

The software "Shell Picture" (http://baxbex.de/shellpicture.html - no freeware!) is very similar to "Shell Extension", but has interesting print functions.

Maybe you can add print functions too?

Hello

I just installed the new version and saw that the picture size is displayed in the "explorer view" (?? maybe wrong word ..).

But I see only the pixel size (i.e. 1187x1772), but not the real printsize (papersize) like 15.00 x 9.99 cm.

Is it possible to display the papersize?

Viewing DWF - using functions of Internet Explorer

Hello it seems that DWF-Format (Drawing Web Format by Autodesk) is still not supported by XnView. Maybe there is a simple way to use it: DWF is a web-format which can be displayed by Internet Explorer, and this is a function which is used by a viewer-plugin of TotalCommander: http://www.totalcmd.net...

In the properties pane, what do you think? That's a good option for a single file. But to get and to handle the information of many files it should also be displayed (optional) in the "Detail list" (maybe I don't use the right word: I mean the part of the browser where all files can be shown in Thu...

I don't understand exactly .. Do you mean as an additional register in Browser near "preview / properties / Histogramm"? I think it should be in the "Detail list" of the files as an optional column near "Name, date, Description ,...." so that you can get an excellent overview of all papersizes of al...

For me it would be very usefull, because we use many TIFs, made by Scanners and showing maps, plans, schemes etc. in differnet papersizes. For printing it on the right paper (A4, A3, landscape, portrait, Plotter with different rolls) it is necessary to know the papersize. At the moment I use TotalCo...
