Re: searching IPTC words

Pierre, can you tell us what it can do it this moment, can search use "AND" (or "OR") options and can these be applied between different fields (IPTC,format,size,...) ? For now, I seem to get inconclusive results when doing some experiments. If search-option can't do AND and OR at this moment, is th...

Re: adapt colour palette for bmp

It would be nice if XnView could load an arbitrary Look-up table and apply its LUT to the selected image, preferably for 8-bit grayscale or 8-bit color images (BMP) I am not shure how this should work for 24 bit RBG images. Ideally I would like to apply this LUT also in the VIEW mode, without changi...

Search with several criterias does not work properly

I have been playing with the search option of XnView 1.96 a bit. I noticed a bug when I select 2 criteria at once. When selecting more then 1 item I presume these criteria must both be met ("AND" function) in the listed result However when I select the camera model EXIF info (In my case "A100") I fi...

Pierre , are you referring to the caching option being lossless, if not I am not sure what you mean by "lossless crop". The crash always occurs right after choosing the crop option from the menu. The selection has already been made. Regarding the behaviour on the 1.95 version, I have to look into th...

B3: frequent crashes when cropping image

I experience very frequent crashes with the B3 version of 1.96 , 1 out of 5 or 10 times, XnView crashes, on a Vista 64 system, and also on a 32 bit XP system: The Vista crash reports some extra information: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: xnview.exe Application Vers...

Anyway, I hope you guys like it... I've set up a quick webpage at http://cowki.freeweb7.com/xnviewstuff/xnview.html with some simple instructions on how to use it, and of course a link to download it. Hello Cowki, your webpage looks very attractive, is the template still available somewhere ?? Than...

When installing the beta-2 I get the error:

"This application failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found"

The application however seems to work OK .
Thanks very much so far ..

I totally agree, and XMP is what Vista and Adobe use for their metadata. In Adobe Bridge you have standard catagories of items, placed in a hierarchic way, but you can ofcourse edit or add your own ones. E.g. I use the catagory "places" , with hierarchy countries/cities/streets . Works prfect for me...

Pierre,

if you have access to Adobe Bridge CS3, version 2.1.1.9 ,
you can see that Abode also switched to
hierarchical keyword .
It works very well and intuitive.
In earlier versions of Bridge CS3
they used a linear keyword approach
which gets cluttered very quickly.

No , as far as I know , reading the ARW type has always been very slow,
also the clarity is different (too light)
as compared with Photoshop CS2.

Here is a sample:
