0.64 Win/64: Compare Tab Issues

Hi Pierre! MP is looking (and acting) better and better. Here are some notes about the Compare tab functionality/appearance: http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7217/3v18.jpg 1. Spacing between Grid/Info/Histogram remains too close. I always click the wrong checkbox. This issue persists from previous M...

MP 0.61: Disable "Use color based on file format"

In XnView Classic there is a setting in Options->File List->Misc to toggle "Use color based on file format"

I can't find a similar setting in MP.

Help!

(please) :(

Re: Online demo of XnView

Hello again XnTriq!

BTW, Notepad++ still doesn't display. It locks Firefox.

XnView works fine, though.

Hi XnTriq

After reinstalling Java and rebooting Firefox a few times it finally worked.

On my first attempt, Firefox froze and had to be terminated.

Subsequent attempts yielded the same alert, but then displayed "Spawn Apps installer could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file."

Re: Crop Board, Rule of Thirds

Support++ Also, consider a way for the user to assign a previously-defined grid to the crop rectangle. http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/3580/i9xx.th.png Implementing the existing grid design/maintenance tool into the crop rectangle tool would be the best approach. In such a case, a rule of thirds ...

Re: Icon "flat" design

Flat style is obviously the "style de jour". The demise of skeuomorphism is official now that Apple has adopted the flat interface. IMO, if the UI resembles Windows 8/WP 8, then flat icons (defined solely by outline and color) are in keeping with THAT aesthetic and, to a certain degree, should be ad...

Re: Free size of thumbnails

Sorry m. Th. ! I vigorously disagree that such a design is "much better". I want UIs that are less modal, not more so. That design is modal as to grouping category. In your example there is no way to see images from adjacent groups simultaneously while still in grouped display. It is useful for drag...

Re: Free size of thumbnails

I think the masonry approach mentioned by XnTriq would be particularly suited for a thumb panel mode we haven't mentioned in this thread yet: "Group By" mode. This clip from Corel PSP X2 best illustrates the concept of a "Group By" panel (thumbs grouped by a date value): http://img30.imageshack.us/i...

Re: Free size of thumbnails

My opinion is that unless I have to work for a very long period (a very huge folder) in a specific folder only containing a unique format of images that strongly deviates from the 1:1 ratio, going through the length of adjusting a thumbnail ratio that I will have to change back again once I get bac...

Re: Free size of thumbnails

Hi Thibaud, The thumbnail ratio setting would change the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the rectangle that contains the thumb image. (This is about display only, not database storage.) IMO "Aspect ratio" and "Thumbs across" are a much more direct and efficient way of fitting thumbs to the pan...
