Re: Certain PDF files cannot be opened in XnView software

Still doesn't open, GS 9.50 still the installed Ghostscript version... :(

As stated, a similar unexplained issue has arisen periodically over the years, probably usually reported in Windows, this is likely the first time that a test file has been posted.

Seems possibly a deeper issue related to ...

Re: Certain PDF files cannot be opened in XnView software

The point here is that on this laptop XnView does open other PDF files while not opening this particular file, which can be opened in all other PDF viewers tested.

As stated, a similar issue has arisen periodically over the years.

Re: Certain PDF files cannot be opened in XnView software

For me in Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon [5.0.7] the currently installed version is 9.50.

But dating back a long time, there has been an occasional issue not I think investigated in detail before, of certain PDF files that open normally in other software not being opened by XnView software, when other ...

Certain PDF files cannot be opened in XnView software

Over the years there have occasionally been reports of PDF files that, although they open normally in other PDF viewers, inexplicably cannot be opened in XnView software.

The attached file is a newly posted example which provides an opportunity for this unexplained issue to be investigated. :D ...

Re: How to display multi-page files in XnView

Confirmed that the provided file, which opens normally in multiple other PDF software's, doesn't open in XnView MP... :bugconfirmed:

Over the years there have occasionally been other PDF files which inexplicably can't be opened in XnView software, so I am starting a new bug thread for that. TBD

Re: How to display multi-page files in XnView

Thank you for the example file. Yes, that works for me also as you described.

So I guess, I have to specify my description of the problem: It seems the problem is not multi-page files in general, but multi-page in pdf file format.
Are you able to post an example multipage PDF file that can't be ...

And no I wont be minimizing number of files in a directory just to cater to really poor choices by xnview

I was suggesting that it might simplify reproducing your issue if you provide some test files [for example in a ZIP or similar ...

Re: How to display multi-page files in XnView

I've just loaded a multipage test file and had a look, and those arrows should become coloured as you step through the pages.

Note that if you plan to edit the images in a multipage file, it is necessary to save the changes made to a page before stepping to another page, otherwise the changes made ...

Re: How to display multi-page files in XnView

On the toolbar, immediately to the right of the two blue arrows which select the previous and next file, you should have two smaller outline arrows which can be used to step through the pages of a multipage.
