Still doesn't open, GS 9.50 still the installed Ghostscript version... :(

The point here is that on this laptop XnView does open other PDF files while not opening this particular file, which can be opened in all other PDF viewers tested.
As stated, a similar issue has arisen periodically over the years.

For me in Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon [5.0.7] the currently installed version is 9.50.

Confirmed that the provided file, which opens normally in multiple other PDF software's, doesn't open in XnView MP...

There is no zip file involved, what are you talking about?
And no I wont be minimizing number of files in a directory just to cater to really poor choices by xnview

On the toolbar, immediately to the right of the two blue arrows which select the previous and next file, you should have two smaller outline arrows which can be used to step through the pages of a multipage.
