Re: Interpolated zooming should be disabled for very small images

… Or it would be great to simply have a button to toggle interpolation on/off! :)

I'm not sure how to do that. But I really like having thumbnails for folders. And I don't think that can be causing the problem anyway, because the thumbnails don't even start generating until after the 7 second pause.

Re: Interpolated zooming should be disabled for very small images

There is an option Tools > Settings... > View -- View tab : High zoom quality which may be what you need? Setting this to "Zoom out" does prevent small images from being interpolated - but it also stops ALL medium resolution images from being interpolated! The problem is even worse for me because m...

Help! I get a 7-second delay when I browse in large folders

My main photos folder contains many sub folders (about 4,000 in total). Whenever I go into one of the sub-folders, then come back up into the main folder, there's always a delay of about 7 seconds during which the program freezes. It's very annoying because XnView is incredibly fast in all other way...

Yes, I have "fit image to window" enabled, so small images always open zoomed in.

Interpolated zooming should be disabled for very small images

Interpolated zooming is a great feature, making everything look nice and smooth. But for small images it's annoying. Images such as pixel art, icons, thumbnails, etc. All the pixels blur together and you can't see the image clearly. I would like to suggest that interpolation is disabled for images b...

Re: Please help... It always crashes in a large folder

some users have the problem when an image file is written, XnView crash... I'm not sure what the problem is. Sometimes it crashes, other times it doesn't. Often it crashes when I'm downloading into a subfolder with the same parent. I will try to do more tests and determine exactly what is causing i...

Re: Please help... It always crashes in a large folder

do you have only image files? which format? do you use the x64bits version? Yes the folder only contains JPEGs and I use the x64bit version (I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit). I've done more testing today and just made a new discovery... I don't think this has anything to do with the conte...

Please help... It always crashes in a large folder

XnView opens images perfectly fine... except for in my biggest folder, containing all my main photo albums. When I try to open any images in that folder (or its sub-folders), it immediately crashes with "An unexpected error has occurred..." I don't understand it, there are no foreign characters in t...

MP is so much faster! What's the point of Classic version?

I've been using XnView Classic for years. I mistakenly assumed that "Classic" meant older, and therefore it would be smaller and would run quicker (like older versions of ACDSee did). However, I recently decided to try XnView MP, just out of curiosity, and boy am I glad I did! I was absolutely blown...

How to set up a library, display as folders, and filter by tags?

Please could someone help me? I've been using XnView for a few years, but my photo collection is now huge and I really want to start tagging all my photos. I also want to be able to browse my entire photo collection as a library that I can filter by tags. This will give me a lot more control over my...

Re: Equal-height Thumbnails (Like Google image search)

if you have images with differing aspect ratios in one row, this won't work well. Admittedly, it works best when all the images are the same aspect ratio. However, it still works very well for mixed aspect ratios - as you can see in this example: http://i.imgsafe.org/af48e66.png All in all this wou...

Re: 6 requests concerning zoom levels

Thanks again, Helmut :) Glad I bumped this thread yesterday! I am so grateful for your help. The only remaining feature I think would vastly improve XnView is my idea for Equal height thumbnails , but there hasn't been any activity on that thread since I posted the idea in February so I assume it's ...

Re: 6 requests concerning zoom levels

I want to first point you to the setting "Zoom step" in View > View. Here you can fine-tune zooming. Set Zoom step to "Relative" and the factor to 1.2 and you'll have about the zooming that you suggested in your initial post. Thank you so much!!! This is great! :) That was my main problem which is ...

Is there any way to know if suggestions are being considered, or if this issue will ever be addressed?
